A Rubble Rescue Device: U-Find

Newer more sophisticated devices for detecting victims of natural or man-made disasters have been in high demand lately. Multiple new devices have been created to help with detecting victims. However, they have been awfully expensive to produce and generally lack ease of use. Moreover, they require special knowledge to be used, making them thus difficult to use by an average user. Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) is an emerging technology on the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile sectors. It is gaining popularity every year and being introduced into more and more mainstream devices by manufacturers. In this project, we leveragethe power of UWB to realize a victim searching device. In particular, the hardware as well as the software architectures underlying our victim detection device are discussed, while highlighting furtherimprovements for the proposed design.
