LUNA

The LUNA project introduces an integrated approach to enhancing sleep quality and health through a trio of interconnected devices: a smart pillow, a wearable bracelet, and an environment monitor, supplemented by a mobile application for seamless home use. This design project addresses the significant gap in traditional sleep management systems by providing a user-friendly solution that caters to the complexity of sleep, a fundamental biological process crucial for physical and psychological well-being. Despite the critical role of sleep in promoting cognitive function, emotional stability, and overall health, sleep disorders remain highly prevalent, with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) notably affecting a substantial global population. This project not only focuses on managing such disorders but also emphasizes the importance of smooth and non-disruptive awakenings which are pivotal for emotional regulation throughout the day.

LUNA is engineered to optimize the sleep experience by facilitating safe sleep, promoting intentional sleep practices, and ensuring users wake up refreshed. By leveraging the latest research, which shows the brain’s capacity to process information and enhance creativity during sleep, LUNA aims to enrich sleep quality and support personal growth. The project explores both the technical and experiential aspects of the system, detailing the design and implementation challenges, and showcases how this innovative solution can significantly improve the user’s overall well-being and health. Through LUNA, we offer a holistic solution that addresses the entire spectrum of sleep, from improving nighttime rest to managing the waking process, thus contributing to better emotional and physical health outcomes.
