Restaurant Rover Waiter
The food industry, especially restaurants, is witnessing significant barriers in customer service, accessibility, and waiter-client interactions. In fact, restaurant chains in many countries have been struggling to secure the required workforce. Moreover, with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, people have been avoiding dining out due to the fear of increased exposure in such environments. Therefore, finding an alternative to traditional waiter services, such as employing contact-less and autonomous technology would serve as a means to solve the above-mentioned problems.
The aim of this project is to design and develop a fully autonomous robot that will be employed in restaurants. The robot should be capable of avoiding obstacles, climbing and descending stairs, without spilling food and beverages, detecting the corresponding food order and reach the designated table.
