On-Campus Recruiting

We offer a wide range of recruitment services. For instance, we organize on-campus recruitment interviews, information sessions, and company presentations throughout the academic year with major local, national and international organizations. These events bring together students with employers.

Posting Job/Internship Announcements

The office regularly posts job and internship announcements free of charge. We maintain an email distribution list for our alumni to keep them updated on job opportunities, upcoming events, and news.

Internships

Engineering students at LAU are required to undergo an eight-week internship. The office assists students with internship positions and selects opportunities that match their professional interests and goals. The internship helps students adjust to different work environments and is extremely valuable, as students get the chance to see how the engineering theories they have studied are applied in real life, by working professionals. What is more, they get to work on projects and assignments that are important to the host company.

Employer and Student Testimonials

The Engineering career and placement office reaches out to graduates to follow up on their success and collect feedback. We hear from students about how the internships have helped them plan their careers before they graduate. Employers also let us know the value that LAU engineering students bring to their organizations.

Here are some of their comments.

UNITERMINALS SAL, strategically located at Dora – Bauchrieh area, is a Lebanese joint stock company dealing with the import, storage and distribution of oil products. It has been few years that Uniterminals is welcoming some of LAU students as interns to gain experience in their respective fields. LAU students are showing dedication, eagerness to learn, communication skills and good behavior. Although it’s time and energy consuming for Uniterminals’ staff, we are pleased and proud to have them with us over this period of time.

As the Senior HR at EPE Consulting (Offshore) S.A.L, I am pleased to endorse graduates from the Lebanese American University.  LAU fresh graduates consistently exhibit exceptional technical skills, job readiness, and professionalism. They are well-versed in the latest industry practices and possess a strong foundational knowledge that allows them to adapt quickly to our work environment. Their academic preparation, combined with any practical experiences they may have gained during internships or projects, equips them with the tools necessary to excel in their roles. Their dedication and commitment to excellence make them valuable assets to our organization. Looking forward to continuing our collaboration with the university.

Aya Maria Aoun, Senior HR at EPE Consulting (Offshore) S.A.L, 2024

During my 2-month industrial engineering internship at Matelec with the QHSE Team, I had the opportunity to design a comprehensive flow chart for managing workstation scrap, covering everything from generation to disposal, including categorizing and implementing appropriate methods for hazardous waste. I updated quality control plans to align with industry standards and developed a QHSE booklet tailored for supervisors to ensure compliance with safety, health, and regulatory requirements. This experience provided valuable insights into practical applications of industrial engineering in a real-world environment

Elias Elghossein, Industrial Engineering, Summer 2024

Our internship at deSter BV, Belgium was an amazing opportunity where we immersed ourselves in new cultures and learned from top-notch professionals. We brought classroom lessons to life in real-world situations, making each day exciting and rewarding.
It was a fantastic, fun-filled experience that we’ll always cherish as we got to visit different cities around Europe

Christophe Awada and Vincent Doueihy, Industrial Engineering, Summer 2024

My time at BCG Dubai was the most memorable and impactful experience I had in college. I got to meet plenty of smart, like-minded people, work on exciting and high impact projects, and set up my career path while making lifelong friends and having so much fun! Simply, it was extraordinary.

Dana El Moghrabi, Mechanical Engineering, Summer 2024

My internship in Poland with IAESTE was a life changing experience. I learned so much technically and also had the opportunity to travel around and explore new cultures.

Rita Nassif, Civil Engineering, IAESTE Intern, Summer 2023

During my stay in Germany with IAESTE, I learned a lot about the country and its culture. Beside all the fun and all the great memories I made, this experience helped me grow and mature as a person.

Ziad Bassil, Computer Engineering

We visited plenty of sites in Los Angeles covering different civil engineering areas. It is really hard to include every event we passed through, because every minute there had its own story.

Sadek Aoun and Lamis Saidy, Civil Engineering

My internship in Karunya Institute of Technology in India was the most memorable experience I have ever had in my entire life.
