Summary of talk:

The presentation to LAU aims at introducing KAPPA ENGINEERING (www.kappaeng.com), a worldwide known reservoir and petroleum engineering software company. KAPPA’s tools are market standards widely used by the major national and international oil companies (Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total, Conoco Phillips, Statoil, Saudi Aramco, Qatar Petroleum, Sonatrach, Petronas, …) but also by the leading service companies (Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, …).
KAPPA is mainly famous for its ‘pressure transient analysis’ SAPHIR software but is also active in production data analysis, production log interpretation, quick and easy 3D reservoir modelling and smart handling of permanent downhole gauge data. KAPPA is involved in unconventional resources leading an important consortium for modelling the specific physics in unconventional context, benefiting from the experience and contribution of key players.
The presentation will use Power Point introductory slides then a ‘live’ demonstration of the software that will be initially kept at a ‘general’ level to make the software understandable to the assistance from various backgrounds, whilst giving a flavor of the specificity of the tools.
The presentation can be attended by reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production engineers, reservoir geologists/geologists and petrophysicists.
