“We bring good things to life.” This famous slogan from General Electric aptly summarizes what we do at the School of Engineering at LAU.
Our mission is to educate students by providing them with the skills and abilities needed for success in their lives as engineers in the professional world. We recognize the need to maintain a distinctive and innovative environment for engineering education and to this end, our small class sizes and state-of-the-art computer facilities and laboratories ensure an ideal educational environment.
We also periodically review and revise our academic programs to ensure that we are offering innovative curricula and instruction that foster intellectual excitement and curiosity among our students. The quality of our programs is maintained through rigorous continuous improvement processes. This has led to the accreditation of all our Bachelor of Engineering Programs by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET effective October 2009.
Recognizing the importance of partnerships between industry and academe in today’s complex market, we emphasize cultivating workable relationships with leading national and international industries. In addition, several of our faculty members have attained national and international recognition in teaching, research and practice. This is a testament to our commitment to excellence in every aspect of the school.
