CourtVision: An Autonomous Basketball Streaming System
The sports world is in constant development, and fans are looking for more and more immersive ways to experience the thrill of live-action sports and be present in real-time, living every moment. While international and professional sports games, and specifically basketball, have attracted attention worldwide, local games in universities, schools, and small sports communities remain uncovered by media. This project aims to provide local schools and communities with the right tools to stream and analyze their basketball games The proposed design is an inexpensive, AIˇ based, multi-camera system for basketball courts, capable of autonomously streaming amateur games, replacing the need for human camera operators. This could be an initial step forward for sports in different fields: analyzing, strategizing, and live streaming, setting the stage for more exciting developments. More importantly, we hope our solution can help automate and improve sports broadcasting and help promote the sport to the younger tech-savvy generation, by creating bigger communities around the sport.Project Details
