Design of a plan for the implementation of a new product line in a food production factory
The objective of this project is to design an optimal process with detailed tasks/activities for the implementation of a new food product line in the Lebanese industry while maintaining or improving the quality, efficiency, and safety of the production process.
The implementation covers the design of production lines, procurement of raw materials, quality control measures, marketing, distribution, design of a least-cost detailed implementation schedule, and a detailed cost-benefit analysis comparing alternative plans using discounted cash-flow methods.
More specifically, the design project should accomplish the following:
- Research & Development: Developing product formulations, conducting trials, and refining the product to meet market demand and regulatory standards.
- Production Planning: Modifying or adding equipment and adjusting production schedules to accommodate the new product without disrupting the existing lines.
- Supply Chain Integration: Ensuring a reliable supply of ingredients and raw materials specific to the new product.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the product adheres to food safety, health, and legal regulations.
Marketing and Sales: Developing a marketing strategy to launch the new product, which may include packaging design and distribution strategies.
