Osiris – Agricultural Rover
Osiris is an innovative project aimed at transforming precision agriculture through advanced robotics. The idea centers on the deployment of a state-of-the-art agricultural rover designed to optimize field operations and enhance crop management.
Osiris utilizes an Arduino Mega for navigation and a speed PID controller to precisely traverse and manage agricultural fields. By systematically dividing the field into grids, the rover performs drilling and seeding operations with exceptional accuracy. Prior to seeding, soil conditions are meticulously assessed using an NVIDIA Jetson Nano equipped with sensors that measure critical parameters such as temperature, moisture, humidity, pH, and NPK values. This enables tailored agricultural interventions, ensuring optimal growth conditions for each grid segment.
Furthermore, post-cultivation, Osiris employs a sophisticated computer vision model with two degrees of freedom to assess the ripeness of crops such as tomatoes, enabling timely and precise harvesting. All data collected by Osiris, including soil conditions and crop ripeness, are transmitted to a web interface that provides comprehensive real-time monitoring and facilitates informed decision-making.
