Development of an Industry 4.0 OEE Software for Smart Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance

The project focuses on building and developing an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) software to be integrated into Pharmaline’s production line (Malia Group). The software will monitor machine failures, enabling close tracking of machine performance and operational efficiency. It will automatically generate effectiveness reports and can incorporate machine learning to support predictive maintenance, further enhancing the smart manufacturing ecosystem. This project aligns with the Industry 4.0 framework by integrating advanced digital technologies into manufacturing and industrial processes. The problem involves building a graphical user interface (GUI) and a mobile application for streamlined and effective monitoring. The main components of the project are: 1. A reading/sensing mechanism that can be installed with minimum intrusion to the deployed PLC-controlled and industrial PCs. 2. A front-end software monitoring system with a GUI, mobile app and reporting mechanisms. 3. A back-end solution aggregating input from different types of machines and monitoring the overall efficiency through database management, data analytics and fault prediction.
