Research interests

Analysis and assessment of the structural performance of critical infrastructure facilities, including:

  • The thermal effects on the stresses in composite steel-concrete bridges.
  • The effect of corrosion on the performance of deep drilled shaft foundations.
  • Using analytical and mathematical techniques to process data from advanced sensing technologies to better assess structural performance of in-place deep underground foundations.
  • Experimental testing and numerical analysis of the structural performance of large concrete, prestressed concrete, and steel pipes used in sewer and pipeline networks.
