Salim M. Edde

Salim M. Eddé is a co-founder of Murex, a financial software company established in 1986 and now recognized as one of the world’s leading providers of trading and risk management technology. Murex serves more than 300 financial institutions worldwide, including many of the world’s largest banks, and employs approximately 3,400 people across its global network of offices, of which 1,100 engineers in Beirut.
Eddé’s professional journey began at Elf Aquitaine in France, where he worked on energy monitoring software and contributed to the commissioning of an automated distillation plant. He later joined Booz, Allen & Hamilton in Jeddah as an associate consultant, advising on banking and industrial reorganization and the implementation of management information systems, before co founding Murex.
In 2013, Eddé founded the MIM Museum in Beirut, dedicated to mineralogy and paleontology and designed to make the sciences accessible to visitors in Arabic, French, and English. Home to approximately 2,400 minerals representing 560 species from more than 75 countries, alongside an important collection of Lebanese fossils, the museum is regarded as one of the finest private mineral collections in the world.
Eddé is a graduate of École Polytechnique in France and holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
