Design of a Sewer Network and a Wastewater Treatment Plant (3)
This final year project focuses on the structural design of several wastewater treatment units for a facility located in Ftouh Keserwan, Lebanon. The site is situated on an elevation of 448m above sea level. Structural elements were designed in accordance with ACI 318 standards and guidelines from the Portland Cement Assocication PCA.
The project’s scope includes the structural design of reinforced concrete tanks used in the treatment process. It also involves two primary clarifiers (rectangular), three secondary clarifiers (circular), one chlorination tank, one filtration tank, three oxidation ditches, and four storage tanks. Each of the mentioned structures was evaluated using appropriate load combinations, environmental factors, and design criteria based on ACI and PCA standards to ensure safety, durability, and performance.
