Design of a Sewer Network and a Wastewater Treatment Plant (2)
This project consisted of designing a wastewater treatment plant and sewer network to serve the village of Baasir, in Chouf, Lebanon. The sewer network covers an approximate area of 5 km2. It is connected to a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), which includes screens, grit chambers, sand filters, chlorination basins, ten circular tanks and twelve rectangular tanks. All of these components are to be fully embedded in the ground. The topography of the area is highlighted by the figure below. It is important to note that the WWTP is to be placed at the lowest location of the site.
