Olive Harvesting Machine
Lebanese olive oil is renowned for its high quality and peculiar Mediterranean taste. The olive oil industry and olive agriculture sectors in Lebanon could significantly benefit from an efficient harvesting machine that would alleviate the tedious task of manual harvesting and reduce its associated costs. This project is about designing an oil harvesting machine. The machine should not exceed 3 tons in weight. It should be capable of harvesting up to 6 trees per hour and should be operated by no more than one operator. The machine could either have its own powertrain (e.g., Diesel or Gasoline ICE, or electric motor), or it could be pulled by a separate vehicle (e.g., tractor). In addition, it should be capable of undertaking rough and uneven terrains. Its overall estimated cost is not to exceed 50,000USD. It should be capable of harvesting olive from trees that reach up to 5m in height, and that are separated by a distance of down to 5m. The machine should harvest the olives with the least possible damage, in order to maintain their quality and taste.Project Details
