Abstract
Vertical photovoltaic (PV) façades offer a viable solution for on-site energy generation in dense urban settings, yet their performance is strongly influenced by complex shading from surrounding structures. This project will study the impact of shading on vertical PV energy yield using solar geometry modeling and shading-aware simulations. Key design parameters, including orientation and placement, will be optimized to reduce mismatch losses and enhance annual output. Well-designed vertical PV façades can maintain strong performance despite shading constraints.
