Sustainable Electric Micro-Mobility Platform
This project focuses on developing a city-wide electric vehicle sharing system, integrating charging stations powered by renewable energy, smart mobility management, and a seamless user experience. The goal is to offer a sustainable, low-emission alternative for urban transport, particularly for short trips. The project will provide an efficient, eco-friendly solution to urban mobility challenges, reduce traffic congestion, and contribute to Lebanon’s sustainability goals. The system will consist of electric bikes and scooters, strategically placed charging stations powered by solar energy, and a mobile app for seamless user experience. Through smart mobility management, real-time data will be used to optimize fleet management, ensuring availability, charging, and efficiency.
Key areas of focus include:
- Renewable energy integration: Developing an energy system that combines solar and batteries to supply energy to the charging stations.
- Smart Mobility Management: Implementing IoT and AI technologies to optimize vehicle availability, battery usage, and energy consumption.
- Urban Planning and Infrastructure: Designing charging station locations and optimizing their integration with existing city infrastructure to ensure maximum coverage and convenience.
This multidisciplinary project will involve collaboration between engineering students (electrical, mechatronics, computer and civil), computer science (AI and IoT development), business (modeling and financial analysis), and environmental science (sustainability and impact assessment). It will be conducted over multiple years, with continuous iterations and scaling of the system, aiming for deployment in urban areas across Lebanon. The project will serve as a model for sustainable, low-emission transportation systems in the Middle East and beyond.
